Worn out and weary adults across many Western cultures list fatigue amongst their top health concerns. Google searches for quick fixes, best supplements, super foods and other miraculous super-cures are wished for. But are these elusive and how can we replenish our draining energy?

Personally, I believe that we need to understand that in order to find a way of solving this energy crisis, one fundamental myth needs to be addressed.  The myth of how can I find a way of eating/ supplementing/ buying something that will increase my energy?

The truth of the matter is that it is rather about conserving the energy you have, and learning how to better use and enhance  the resource that is available to you.

Why try to add supplements and find ways of increasing energy, when you are unable to conserve and efficiently use the energy that you already have?

It’s much like trying to pour water into a container that has a hole in it – silly isn’t it? You wouldn’t do it because you know that the water will simply need to be continuously be replenished, and that is a waste of time and energy. 

And so the thinking is the same with your body. Why try to add supplements and find ways of increasing energy, when you are unable to conserve and efficiently use the energy that you already have? 

Most of us have all the energy we need, the secret is to manage it better, and to notice what is draining it.  Looking for more energy is often a recipe for disaster.  We need to learn to work smarter  – not harder, live smarter – not harder.

If you are fatigued, it is always important to look for the many organic causes; however, these metabolic causes are often “effects”.  They are the secondary conditions to much deeper causes.  When we look only for the metabolic causes, very often we miss the target. Fatigue is a message from the wisdom of your body.  Hear the message, stop resisting it, stop over riding it.  When you look deeper into the soul, the psyche and the mind-body dimension, that journey can lead you to the cure, to the places where your energy is being drained. 

So step into consciousness, into body awareness so you can plug your leaks.  Value your time and your energy, they are important commodities that need to be well regulated so you can lay the foundations for sustainable energy.
